He then guided me through the rest of the island where... read more the prisoners were to be held, hence the name Prison Island, but it actually never ended up holding any prisoners. The highlight of the tour was Nakupenda Beach. The views from the sandbank were something out of a fairytale. Ahmed also seems to have an eye for photography as he was able take some excellent photographs for me at Prison Island and on the beach. This tour is definitely one of the best tours I embarked on at Zanzibar and would recommend it to anyone travel here, you’ll enjoy your time with a laid back, down to earth guide like Ahmed.
